Union Pacific 4014 is a four cylinder simple articulated 4-8-8-4 Big Boy type steam locomotive owned and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad.
Here's a quick look at our trip to see the Big Boy in Modena and then we were going on to Caliente, Nev. But we decided to stay closer to Modena and find a place along the tracks just south of town. This worked out great! And after seeing the mob of people in Modena, well we can only imagine what it was going to be like in Caliente. View this full screen .

Built in 1941 by the American Locomotive Co. of Schenectady, New York. #4014 is the only operating Big Boy steam engine of the eight that remain in existence.
