This trip was a scenic trip to the foothills of the Indian Peak area in the desert and mountains of Southern Utah. To get to the Game Management Area it's a 70 mile off road journey just to get there. We were looking for several old mines, that were for the most part Uranium Mines, and hoping to see some of the 60 individuls that are part of the Elk herd that resides there. The mines are pretty much gone, and since it was near hunting season we saw a lot of hunters, but no Elk. This is a very pretty, isolated, area that is cooler (temps) than down in the valleys with some great scenery. See the download for the gpx track and the maps below.

In the first segment of this trip video we've asked viewers if they knew anything about 2 locations that are named on the topography maps. First one being - "The Movies" and secondly - "Rustler's Draw". Odd names for an isolated area like this. We thought maybe at one time this was a location for a movie shoot, but couldn't find any info on this. If you have any info, please comment on the YouTube video or Contact Us
