This trip is the result of several surveys of topo maps looking for trails, mines and places of interest in the desert. Did we find them? The answer is best seen in the video/slideshow below. The short answer - no not all of them. We were looking for a short cut to travel from the Lincoln Mine through the Mineral Mts. over to Soldiers Pass and we found it, but, it is passable easily by a quad or side by side. To overgrown and narrow for a 4x4 vehicle unless you don't care about pin striping. The second part of the trip was to get to 2 gold mines in the Mineral Mts. in Cave Canyon. The second mine, Hecla Mine trail was also overgrown. We did get to the Cave Mine. The third part of the trip was to get into Hot Springs Canyon and hopefully find a hot spring. No good, it must have dried up some time in the past. The rest of the trip out of Hot Springs Canyon was kind of a bore, nothing to see at all. Check the video below!
We've had a lot of rain here in the spring and this is why a lot of the trails are overgrown. And not just with small twigs, but also large ones that can really reek havoc with your paint job. This brought us to a stop. If you don't believe me then take a look for yourself. Here's the link to the gpx track.

This is a good example of how you look for these things and some times you just don't find them, but the trip itself is always fun and you get to see things that most people can't even imagine. Here's a link to the camera we've been using for photos and video. The Canon M100
