Desert Bloom 2012
May 16th, 2012
Southern California, Utah
Not a good year?
We've heard this several times now from different sources. I think it mayl be a few weeks early in some areas of the desert. In other areas the bloom in the desert is ahead of schedule. Weather, rain, and temperatures have a great influence on the bloom in the desert. In years of drought the bloom can be almost non-existent. This year it seems to be off to a fairly decent start.

The slideshow below is mostly thanks to Jon Larson, who supplied a large majority of the flower photographs for last years bloom in the desert. In the beginning are several photos supplied by the staff of www.in-the-desert.com of flowers found at higher elevations. They are marked accordingly.
