King of the Hammers is an off-road race that combines desert racing and rock crawling. Held in February on Means Dry Lake in Johnson Valley, California. The race began in 2007 and was started by Jeff Knoll and Dave Cole. It's a 50 to 60 mile course. All the past winners are invited back for the new race each year. Some of these competitive vehicles have 800+ horsepower and 40 inch tires.

Last years winners were: Loren Healy and Casey Trujillo and this years winners were: the Slawson Brothers (Randy Slawson & Michael Slawson) of Bomber Fabrication. They won the "Jumbo Tron". There are 5 different classes. 129 vehicles took off from the start line, only 17 finished. The crowd was said to be over 50,000+.
