Labor Day 2010
September 5th 2010
On the Colorado River, Yuma, Az.
Labor Day weekend is a fun filled 3 day weekend for family barbeques, outings on the river and just good fun. If your in Yuma or the surrounding area then maybe a tubing trip down the Colorado River will suite your fancy.
Here's the Ocean to Ocean bridge at Gateway Park on the Colorado River. Labor Day is the start of the fun on the river. With the hot weather still here, there are a lot of people enjoying a trip on the river with Yuma River Tours, with paddle wheelers and a sightseeing tours.
Another look at a local happening in the desert.
Playground of the Southwest
Of course there is an alternative -- head for the mountains, Julian, California for instance. Here is a friend pouring more lighter fluid on the already lit charcoal to get it going. I can smell the meat cooking now.

Here are a few photos from this Labor Day on the Colorado River near Fisher's Landing. This is gathering place for fishermen, boaters and party goer's with miles of river to travel and lots of sandbars to camp on.. It gets full of people with a lot of different boats and different reasons for being on the river. This is a free ramp at Fisher's Landing and they also have a small mini-mart and eatery. Gas, and boat repairs are available. See below ----
