Being a native of France, Philippe is an avid hiker and explorer in the desert southwest. His travels over the years have taken him to many of the really great sites in the desert southwest. Many of these sites are not often visited as they are remote and hard to get to.
Philippe has said many times that he is not a professional photographer, he is very modest! Below you'll see a very small sample of of his ability. He is an inspiration to all photographers.
It is a great pleasure to know Philippe and we're looking forward to meeting him in person some day. His love and respect of the desert southwest is brought to the forefront by his photographs. He has also spent time in the African deserts and we'll show you some of his work there also. His travels are extensive and he is a real lover of Ancient Cultures and their petroglyphs and wall paintings. He often travels with his wife, Elisabeth, daughter, Flora, and with friends here in the US.
Philippe has collaborated with his friend/author, Laurent Matres, on 3 volumes of Photographing the Southwest. These are fantastic guide books for photographers visiting the different areas in the desert Southwest. Full color photos, locations and directions to sites. These guide books are quite popular, especially among photographers.

Philippe's photographs are mostly focused on "off the beaten track" locations.
"There are numerous photographic opportunities, especially at sunrise and sunset"

One of Phillipe's favorite places to explore! Some locations, like "Moon House Ruins" won't be found on any topo map. This site is very fragile. Some of the places shown here are not well known and don't have well published locations.

Adventures, California, Nevada

Philippe has found isolated locations here that we've never heard of. Some take considerable hiking to get to them. Others like Death Valley are more common.

Adventures, Africa, Sahara, Tadrart

Philippe's adventures also include a trip in the desert in 2008 to Africa in an area called Tadrart, in the southeast corner of Algeria. Colorful sand dunes, arches and other geological features such as very ancient rock art. Guides were the friendly Touaregs.
