Jellyfish
Sharpening photos
First we'll show you a few examples. This photo of jellyfish was nice in color but lacked detail. After converting it to a B&W image in Detail 2 by lowering the saturation we added more detail. In the lower photo we could have circled everything in the image because of the enhanced detail though out the photo but instead we chose a few areas where it's really noticeable. This will also work with color images as seen below.
Sierra's in the winter
Sharpening, Detail
In the sample image below you'll notice the lack of detail and contrast. This photo was taken with an older Sony 5 megapixel camera of a landscape in the mountains. How many of you still have older cameras like this? You'd probably like the photos from them to look more detailed and professional, like they were taken with one of the newer more modern cameras, right? With this plug-in it becomes a simple task to accomplish this. Look at the lower photo....
Turkey Vulture
This is a crop of 12 megapixel image of a Turkey Vulture. Taken at quite a distance, the original on the left lacks detail necessary for a good quality image. Notice on the enhanced photo on the right the added detail to the head and feathers, and even to the leaves in the background.
A lot of imaging programs have sharpening options. The nice feature with Topaz Labs plug-in is the lack of halo's and artifacts often introduced by other sharpening methods. You can easily destroy a good image with these other sharpening methods.
If you try this program "Trial Version" and run into problems with excess noise in the sky of your photos then simply lower the Small Boost slider to correct this.
