History, Petroglyphs, Events
It's been hard on us, thanks to the Chinese Virus - Covid 19. Going out with a group or just with friends has become an impossibility because of our age and physical problems. We still go out at night once in a while, but this is not good for photography or video work. We don't want to go too far afield for fear of breaking down and being by ourselves without help. But please don't hesitate to visit our YouTube Channel for other trips we've done. This trip was an update with some added history and new photos/video added. Download the GPX track HERE

Leaving Cedar City on Lund Hwy. it takes 30 miles to get to Lund. The straight stretch you see in the beginning to cross the Escalante Desert is about 15 miles long. Some interesting history of the railroad town of Lund can be found on the plaque below. Please take a few moments to read about the history of Lund, it is very interesting and also surprising. Hard to believe they accomplished travel in that manner years ago. Also the petroglyphs we've shown here in the video are a very complex set of glyphs that are very old. Not many know about them so take care and don't touch them, but enjoy this hidden treasure, even if it's at a distance. You can find more photos, "enlargements", of these glyphs on this page on our web site under the Heading "Fremont Culture, Petroglyphs"

History of Lund and what the town was used for!
We hope you're staying safe out there with all the nonsense with this virus. Traveling in the desert is a great way to stay away from crowds and staying healthy, especially for the older explorers out there. Have fun and stay safe! For the most part this is a 2 wheel drive trail if the weather is decent!
